The script is a big challenge to the director: tell as many stories as possible in two and a half hours. Director Sharavana does this by packing the cast with as many characters as possible. But, as always, too much is too bad. The film flounders, leaving little or no scope for the editor to make it remotely watchable. The onslaught of sequences makes it difficult for the audience to piece the movie together.
The movie attempts to showcase that whatever Gen-X does is right... but also shows what happens to them and their well-wishers when they lose their way. The stories of four couples — Pallavi-John, Poornima-Suri, Uma-Shiva and Dhanya-Brihaspati — show the many shades and dilemmas of relationships. So, there are bonds laced with love, hate, etc. And the newcomers have done justice to their roles.
If a romantic lover (John) tries to depict what pure love is all about, the other (Suri) prioritizes his lady love over his mother. Then there is Uma, who craves the parental love she was denied. The last couple, which also happens to be the youngest, shows the ill-effects of infatuation.
But for two songs, music composer Neel’s work is melodious.
